I know that when you typically start to plan a trip or a weekend getaway you end up booking a room somewhere to simply serve as your home base while you explore the area. You want a clean and comfortable place to sleep and shower, maybe a pool on premise, and perhaps a free continental breakfast. Booking the accommodations is a starting point, but not usually the thing you are looking forward to most about your upcoming travels.
That cannot be said about the guest rooms at Hidden View Bed & Breakfast in Hillsboro, Virginia. In fact, you could possibly spend most of your time during your visit to Loudoun County in your room and exploring the grounds of this beautiful bed & breakfast and be totally content... but I wouldn't necessarily recommend that. Not when there is so much to see and do in the area, but that is for another blog post. ;)
The Rooms.
Hidden View offers its guests 5 different spacious guest rooms to choose from, all with private bathrooms of their own. During our stay at the bed & breakfast, I stayed in the Tranquility Suite while my girlfriend stayed in the Haven Suite.
The Haven Suite.
If you happen to be craving a little privacy during your stay at Hidden View, then booking the Haven Suite is the way to go. The cozy Haven Suite is the only guest room on the second floor and is located away from the other suites on the other side of the house.
The Haven Suite also comes appointed with a plush, king-sized bed and a gas fireplace. It has a separate sitting area/nook (pictured below) perfect for curling up with a good book and a cup of tea.
The Common Areas.
There are several shared/social spaces located both inside of the bed & breakfast as well as on the property. Pictured above is the beautiful main dining room where my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast the second morning of our stay at Hidden View.
There is a great room that is located just off from the kitchen. This space is also used for serving guests breakfast in the morning, but also makes a great spot to relax after a day out in Loudoun County exploring the local winery & brewery scene.
The sun room has a tropical feel to it. You can close your eyes and almost imagine yourself at southern beach.
Located just off from the main kitchen and also from a private entrance in the Tranquility Suite is a large patio space. It is the perfect spot for enjoying your morning breakfast al fresco or for sipping on a glass or two of wine on.
The Grounds.
Cheri & Ray could not have picked a more breathtaking property to open a bed & breakfast in Virginia wine country. The panoramic views of the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the front of the property are awe-inspiring. You could spend hours in those adirondack chairs just taking in the scenery.
A communal fire pit is also available for guest use. Perfect for a little s'mores making!
My only regret during our stay at the Hidden View is that we did not get to take advantage of this gorgeous pool. While we enjoyed the most beautiful weather during our two-night stay, the temperatures never quite got high enough to don our swimsuits and take a dip.
The Breakfast.
Cheri & Ray strive to not only provide an amazing, filling breakfast to their guests each morning, but they also try to source their ingredients locally for their breakfast dishes as much as possible. One local business supporting other local businesses in the area.
The Hidden View Bed & Breakfast provided the most comfortable and luxurious home base for Candy & I as we explored the Loudoun County area. But Hidden View is so much more than just that. Hidden View can most definitely be a destination in and of itself whether you are looking to book for a girls' trip, a couple's getaway, or you just need a few days of "me time" to yourself.
