Forget that boring store bought veggie tray! You can create an Instagram-worthy Hummus & Veggie Board in just 7 simple steps...
Have you ever been scrolling through your Instagram feed and just stopped & gawked when you saw a pic of a gorgeous veggie tray that someone had made for a summer party or backyard BBQ? Maybe you thought that person had to have a ton of extra time on their hands because most of us just pick up that pre-made (& not so Instagram-worthy) vegetable tray in the produce section of the grocery store. Maybe you even found yourself feeling a little bit intimidated and thought there was no way you would be able to pull something like that off yourself.
But guess what? You can ditch that store bought veggie tray because putting together an Instagram-worthy veggie board is much easier than you may think! Especially when you have a little help from Sabra hummus and fresh, seasonal produce from your local Walmart! :)
So how do you create a picture perfect hummus & veggie board?
- Step 1- Hop in your car and drive over to your nearest local Walmart.
- Step 2- Head to the deli section and pick up your favorite Sabra hummus. (I highly recommend their Spinach and Artichoke Hummus.)
- Step 3- Pop over to Walmart's fresh produce section and pick up some of your favorite fresh vegetables & a package of fresh basil leaves.
- Step 4- Bring it all home and then get to chopping those veggies.
- Step 5- Place the container of Sabra hummus in the middle of a serving board. Arrange the fresh cut veggies around the hummus. Top the hummus with freshly chopped basil, if desired.
- Step 6- Serve and watch your guests ooooohhh & ahhhhh over your gorgeous hummus & veggie board. Then step back and let them snap & post as many Instagram-worthy pics as their hearts desire.
- Step 7- Dig in & enjoy! :)
A few tips & suggestions to really make your hummus & veggie board pop:
- Slice your fresh vegetables into unexpected cuts & shapes. For instance, instead of cutting sweet peppers into the usual strips, slice them into colorful rings instead.
- Add at least one unexpected veggie to your board. I gave fresh green beans a quick boil in water, then blanched them by immediately dunking them in ice cold water. The beans stay bright green & a little crisp making them perfect for dipping.
- Go for a rainbow of colors! Don't just stick to green veggies. Think red, yellow, & orange sweet peppers. Deep red cherry tomatoes. Bright orange carrots.
- Top your favorite Sabra hummus with chopped or sliced fresh herbs for an extra pop of flavor & color. Fresh basil goes amazing with their Spinach and Artichoke Hummus.
