So, who all is looking forward to the big game this coming weekend? I have to admit that I have never been much of a professional football fan. (My husband, on the other hand, happens to be a whole other story. But only when a certain team that sports the black & gold is playing. ;) ) But one thing I can always get behind for the big game is the game day food. No matter which team you happen to be rooting for this Sunday, I believe that is one thing we can all agree on- everyone loves the football food!

While I love playing hostess and putting together a tasty game day spread, it can get expensive to feed a team of hungry fans. When it comes to planning my menu and sticking to a budget, Save-A-Lot is my Big Game headquarters. My local Save-A-Lot has everything I need to throw an epic football party without breaking the bank because their prices are often 40% lower than conventional grocery stores! :)

In addition to picking up our favorite chips, paper products, and soda pop, I decided to grab a few ingredients at my local Save-A-Lot to whip up a super easy and budget friendly dip for the big game. With a creamy combination of chick peas, sour cream, warm spices, lemon, and green olives, your football party guests are going to clamor for the bold flavors in this Moroccan Sour Cream Dip.

I purchased everything that I needed to make this dip for less than $7 at my local Save-A-Lot. That makes it around 87 cents per serving! (Prices may vary by location.) With a little help from your local Save-A-Lot, you can entertain for the big game this weekend without spending a small fortune.

A few tips for throwing a winning Big Game party on a budget...
  • Make Save-A-Lot your Big Game headquarters and save up to 40% off conventional grocery store prices! Plus, you can save even more by snagging a $5 off a $35 coupon by CLICKING HERE. *Only at participating stores.
  • Throw a potluck party and ask guests to contribute to the game day menu. It can be something as simple as asking them to bring a bottle of soda, a bag of chips, or a favorite game day dish of their own. I often like to provide the main dishes and snacks and then ask my party guests to bring specific items to accompany them. For example, I might ask someone to bring the baby carrots for this dip. :)
  • Whip up & serve budget friendly recipes like the one I am sharing with you all today for this Moroccan Sour Cream Dip.
  • Skip the decorations. No one is coming to your Big Game party for the decorations. (Because they are coming for the food, silly!) And those pricey decorations will just end up in the trash once the final play of the game is over anyways. ;)
