Well, folks... another Halloween is done and over with and in the books! :) We enjoyed a successful Halloween weekend filled with pumpkin carving, dressing up, trick or treating, and costume party attending.

I have to admit from our fun family traditions to the costumes and the food, Halloween definitely ranks in my top 3 of all of the holidays.

This year Little Miss went as a princess from a very popular Disney movie (ahem, I am pretty sure we saw at least 10 other little girls dressed the same as her in the course of our 45 minutes of trick or treating).

And I allowed my three year old daughter to choose my costume this year, and let's just say it was pretty darn magical. ;) (Trust me- you all will definitely want to click on that link and see what I dressed up as!)

But every Halloween it seems that we are left with more candy than we know what to do with. If you happened to have found yourself in the same boat this Halloween weekend, then I have some good news for you all- these easy to make Halloween Stash Devil's Food Cookies are the perfect way to use up that leftover trick or treat loot...

I actually whipped up these moist cookies jam-packed with our favorite trick or treat candies for my parents' Halloween costume party over the weekend, and let's just say that they disappeared pretty quickly. ;)

Thanks to your favorite devil's food cake mix the cookie dough itself is made with just 3 ingredients, and you can add any candies that you happen to have on hand. I chopped up some Twix, 3 Musketeers, Snickers, and Milky Ways for my version, and then threw in some M&M's and candy corn for good measure.

prep time: 10 min cook time: 9 min total time: 19 min

ingredients:

  • 1 (15.25 oz) box of devil's food cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 1/2 cups of various Halloween candies (M&M's, candy corn, chopped candy bars)

instructions:

How to bake Halloween Stash Devil's Food Cookies

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, and oil. Mix well. Fold in the Halloween candies. (I set aside the candy corn & just pressed them into the top of each cookie ball.)
  3. Roll the dough into generous tablespoon sized balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart. Bake at 375 for 7-9 minutes or until set around the edges. Cool on the baking sheet for at least 5-10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Store any leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  5. Enjoy!
