With the cold of February having set in around here, which means long days stuck inside with a restless toddler, and the ominous filing of this year's tax return staring me in the face, I have been on the lookout lately to find ways to slow down, relax, and warm up.
If I can steal a moment for myself in the afternoon when my daughter takes the rare nap, I like to whip up a little something warm, creamy, & comforting to enjoy.
But let's face it- I have no clue how long that little moment to myself is actually going to last around here. So, I also need a little something delicious but quick. ;)
In one of these few and far between "me time" moments, I had a craving for something warm, chocolaty, but with a little spice. I thought why not combine two of my favorites into one easy and quick sip?
Chai tea and a little instant hot cocoa mix come together in this creamy Easy Chai Hot Chocolate. It is ready to savor and enjoy in mere minutes, folks...
Easy Chai Hot Chocolate

Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Cook Time: 2-3 minutes
Ingredients (1 drink)
- 1 bag of your favorite chai tea
- boiling water
- 1/2 packet or 2 tbsp of instant hot cocoa mix (I used a dark chocolate one.)
- splash of milk or creamer (I used coconut milk.)
- Whipped topping and cinnamon, for topping (if desired)
Instructions
Put water on to boil.
Fill a mug halfway with boiling water. Steep your chai tea bag in the hot water in the mug for 2-3 minutes.
Add in the hot cocoa mix and stir well. Top with more boiling water and a splash of milk or creamer.
Top with a dollop of whipped topping and sprinkle of cinnamon, if desired.
Serve immediately.
