Cranberry White Wine Sauce- Forget the canned stuff for your holiday dinner! This classy homemade cranberry sauce takes just 4 ingredients and 15 minutes to make.

In case you all have been too busy to notice, Christmas is just two days away.
Two days, folks. Who all is ready? ;)

I can honestly sit here and say for once that I am ready. I did just finish wrapping up the last of the gifts last night, but I am done. Everything is ready to be placed under the tree and then ripped open in less than 48 hours.

I believe this may be a first for me, friends.

So now that the whole gift wrapping business is done and crossed off my holiday to-do list, I am focusing on my Christmas dinner menu

I actually wasn't planning on hosting a big family dinner for Christmas this year, but my husband kind of changed all that thinking when he came home from work the other day with a 20 pound ham in a bag.

This thing is huge. So naturally, I decided that hosting family for a big Christmas dinner would be in order.

Even though we have opted to go the ham route this year for our Christmas dinner (by default of the fact that my husband received one for free from his work), I still wanted to share this classy & quick Cranberry White Wine Sauce for all of you serving turkey at your holiday dinner this week.

This cranberry sauce takes just 4 ingredients and 15 minutes to make! So just leave that canned stuff on the grocery store shelves this week, k? ;)

prep time: 5 min cook time: 15 min total time: 20 min

ingredients:

  • 12 oz bag of fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 1 cup of white wine (I used a Sauvignon Blanc.)

instructions:

How to cook Cranberry White Wine Sauce

  1. Combine the cranberries, sugar, lime juice, and white white wine in a large sauce pan. Heat over medium-high heat and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce is ready when the cranberries have all burst open and the sauce has thickened.
  2. Allow to cool completely, then transfer to a dish or resealable container. Store covered in the fridge until ready to serve.
  3. Enjoy!

I prepared this Cranberry White Wine Sauce for our Thanksgiving dinner last month, and it was a huge hit! It is tart, sweet, & bright with just a hint of your favorite white wine, and it pairs perfectly with your holiday turkey. Make this just one time, and you will wonder why you ever bothered with the canned sauce before. ;)

Plus, it happens to be an excellent way to use up any leftover white wine. I mean, if leftover wine even exists in your home...
