How gorgeous is this display of Thanksgiving must-haves from Target?? I will take one of each, please. ;)
This will be my second year hosting my family's annual Thanksgiving dinner. My first year was a little bit of a learning experience. It was my first time ever roasting an entire turkey by myself. It turned out well, but I am on a mission to roast the tastiest turkey ever this year.
Last year I shared with you all a little sneak peek of my Thanksgiving dinner spread, so I thought it would be fun to post one again this year. (And then next year and the year after... wait. Did I just create a Thanksgiving Day tradition for the blog? I think I did! ;) )
Okay, first up? The turkey, of course!
I am super intrigued by this recipe from Modern Christian Homemaker for a No- Baste, Super Moist Roasted Turkey. No basting?? I might be giving this one a go this year. I know I said after last year's dinner that I was just going to roast a whole turkey breast, but there is just something about presenting that whole gorgeous turkey at the dinner table, right? ;)
I will be employing two slow cookers to make side dishes & keeping the oven free for that turkey...
These Slow Cooker Candied Sweet Potatoes from Six Sisters' Stuff will definitely be making an appearance at my Thanksgiving dinner table!
I am also working on my own recipe for a crock pot corn pudding. Stay tuned because that one is coming to the blog next week, my friends. ;)
Good ole Stove Top stuffing will also be on my table again this year. It is the only side dish that my son special requests (ahem... begs for ;) ).
My mother is in charge of bringing her famous homemade mashed potatoes with lots of butter, and she will also be making a delicious Cape Cod Chopped Salad she spied in the November issue of Good Housekeeping.
I made & canned a batch of my Cinnamon Spiced Apple-Cranberry Jam last fall and still have a jar left. I love using this instead of traditional cranberry sauce...
One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving dinner is the desserts. Am I right? I have had two special requests from the men in my life for this year's sweet treats.
My ever popular and year-round requested go-to no-bake pie recipe...
And this year, a brand new favorite will be joining the dessert table- my Hot Buttered Rum Apple Pie that I just posted to the blog yesterday. :) When I made it a couple of weekends ago, it was unanimous that it just had to be baked again by me for Thanksgiving...
If I can happen to get my hands on a pie pumpkin the week of Thanksgiving, I would love to make this gorgeous DIY Thanksgiving Centerpiece from Wine & Glue...
Are you hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year? What tried & true dishes will be making their annual appearance on your table? Are you adding any new recipes to the menu this year? :)
