11 Confessions of a Foodie/Food Blogger

This may come as a shock to many fellow foodies, but I don't own a fancy stand mixer or a food processor & I actually do not really desire myself to own one anywhere down the line.  The couple of times I have purchased & tried to use the above mentioned coveted kitchen appliances, I was met with much frustration which turned into anger and then myself quickly selling the above items just to get them out of my sight & out of my kitchen.

On the flip side, the three kitchen appliances I don't necessarily need, but can't imagine my culinary world without them in it are my ice cream maker, my griddler, and my bread machine.  I use all of these appliances each at least once a month.  Often more than once in the same week.

I get excited about new, shiny kitchen gadgets... like my beautiful stainless steel pastry cutter.  Currently I am eyeing a gorgeous new whisk in my near future.  My two other whisks just look, well... sad. :/

I hate cilantro.  No, I loathe it.  There.  I said it.
I also despise goat cheese.  Can't stand it.
Either one of those two ingredients in an otherwise amazingly fabulous dish at a restaurant will automatically steer me towards a different option on the menu.

My go-to lunch sandwich when there are no leftovers from dinner the night before is scrambled egg with Miracle Whip.  Is that weird?  Anyone else do this or is it just me?  My husband thinks I am nuts for eating it.
And it has to be Miracle Whip, not mayo.  Mayo is just not the same.

I adore seafood, but I haven't ate any in months.  My son and my husband are not huge fans, & I can't justify spending money on shrimp, or scallops, or salmon just so I can have some.
I miss seafood. :(

Items you will almost always find in my pantry at any given time- good olive oil, cans of Rotel, cans of coconut milk, cornmeal, chocolate chips, instant yeast, dry soup mix, shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, panko bread crumbs, cookie butter, rolled oats.
Like, seriously.  If I am out of one of these things in my pantry, it is a sad day.

I not only considered size and features of my new kitchen when we were trying to choose a new home to rent a few months ago- oh yes, I also took into strong consideration how much good natural light poured into the room.  You know you are a food blogger when... ;)
On that same note, I snap about half of my food photos for the blog using leftovers the next day.
Especially if it is an entree since I lose all my good light in the kitchen after dinnertime.
True story.
Bet you couldn't tell, right? ;)

I love the taste of pork sausage and kielbasa, but I hate the texture of them.  Those little round globules of weird fat and gristle?  Yeah... that.  I compromise by using turkey sausage whenever I can.
Most of the taste.  None of the weird chewy, hard parts.
You all know what I am talking about, right?

I may have a mild obsession with bundt cakes which also equates into a mild obsession with collecting bundt pans.  They just may be the first thing I look for when I head out to garage sales or thrift shops.  You can't have too many bundt pans, right? And as my good friend Julie from White Lights on Wednesdays so aptly pointed out to me on Instagram, "...bundt pans are each a beautiful and unique snowflake."
I couldn't have said it better myself. ;)

Are you a food blogger or do you consider yourself a foodie?  What are some of your confessions?
Do we have any of the same? ;)
